Snowshoe Water System Updates & Transition
Check here for updates on the water system repair.
June 14, 2018:
As of 9:30pm, the leak has been located, repaired, and pressure tested. After having found the pressure to hold, we began to back fill the trench that was dug to expose the pipe. Water is back on. We recommend flushing of faucets in households until no sand and sediment is present in the water. The boil water notice is still in effect - if you'd like to drink your water, please boil it first. Otherwise, it can be used for non-consumption activities like showers. Once we hear from the DEC that the boil notice has been lifted, we will notify customers immediately.
Work on the repair has begun. Click here to see a video of the progress as of 11am.
Water is shut off. Work on the repair will begin by 12pm today. AWPS will be on site during the repair.
June 13, 2018:
Water will be shut off this evening at 11pm. Repairs will begin tomorrow morning, June 14, 2018. We anticipate repairs to be finished by the end of day.
We will post updates as more information becomes available.
